Andreas Elsener is a director, writer and editor from Zurich, Switzerland.

Born in 1991, Andreas Elsener holds a Master of Arts in Classical Archaeology and Film Studies graduating from the University of Zurich in 2018.

He directed various short films, the feature film „Durch die Nacht“ and the documentary feature “Berg der Steine” (“Monte Iato” - The Story of an Excavation”). This films was his master thesis in Classical Archaeology and portrays an archaeological excavation in Western Sicily over the course of almost five decades.

His short film “Druckabfall" (“Pressure Drop”), premiered at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in 2021 and was then screened at various festivals worldwide.

He was a selected talent at the ZFF Academy in 2021.

His latest project is the western short “Bounty for Bernadette” which is currently on a festival run around the globe.

He also worked as an assistant for the producers at CognitoFilms GmbH (now Catpics AG) on various documentary and narrative features.
